…then why did I just download an mp3 of Justin Timberlake - Rock Your Body using a filesharing app? Is it because I would be shamed by paying for something Justin Timberlake did? Or maybe it’s because the iTunes Music Service didn’t have the track available.
I do like the service and it’s fun to browse - mainly for the previews of the tracks. They sound just as good as the track you’re paying for and I can tell the previews are cut from the song and not just the first 30 seconds of the song. But quite honestly, I haven’t found *a song* I am willing to pay $0.99 for. I suppose it is a pretty good deal to download a whole album for $9.99. It’s just that I can’t quite get out of the mode of wanting 1. the jewel case/album art and 2. highest quality source for a few dollars more.
But I do think this is a bright future for music and the internet. Now if they can get a lot more indies and obscure stuff that is hard to find in stores then they’ll have a lot more of my business.
The new iPods kick ass…I want one.
