Fireworks

I had to leave work early this evening because I wasn’t feeling well. That’s an understatement I was in incredible pain, specifically in my lower-right abdomen/back area. After getting home and freaking out I called Luke and Cliff who came immediately over to check me out. Luke went through some diagnostics with his dad (Waco’s own Dr. Gary Barbin) and decided I needed to go to the hospital.

35 seconds later, I am admitted to the emergency room at Resurrection Medical Center a block away. After some diagnostics and dealing with agonizing pain I finally get the I-V of pain killers. What a relief. A CT scan was done to determine if my appendix was blowing up…and it wasn’t. The blood/urine sample tests came back the doctor tells me I just passed my first kidney stone. Welcome to the club.

Luke, Cliff and my Dad were there for me. Other than the painkillers, that definitely made all the difference…

I have always heard that the pain from a kidney stone is comparable to the pain during child birth. Mothers around the world…I salute you.

I am going to relax now…

I was just listening to Oysterhead - Polka Dot Rose
