What Are Your Hopes, What Are Your Dreams….What Are Your Passions?

I’ve watched the new Anchorman trailer and this clip at least 10 times today…laughing hysterically.

From Ron’s bio:

By the age of nine, Ron already had a full mustache which he groomed daily with an assortment of brushes. He also demonstrated a manly and comforting pre-pubescent baritone. This powerful and authoritative voice allowed him to hail cabs and purchase liquor for his grade school friends.

Live From The Apple Store

Showing the folks in the store the goodness of the blog…

Lesson learned today: it’s wilwheaton.NET not .ORG!!!

***update***

As I was giving my pro web design workshop on blogs and blogging, I mention Wil Wheaton’s blog and how it made both Wil Wheaton and blogging popular by getting to read a rather personal journal of someone who’s somewhat famous…and someone who comments on being famous, ex-child star, etc. etc.

First I load www.wilwheaton.com and then realize, oh yeah it’s not a “.com”…it’s a .org. So then I load www.wilwheaton.org(**WARNING**could be graphic or malicious) in front of my whole audience and load a picture of a man bent over with a OBGYN tool lodged in his bung hole. Thankfully I was quick on the trigger although I did cause emotional distress to a few of the women in the audience. I did not falter though - carried on like nothing terrible happened, tieing it in to my earlier part of the discussion - why trust is a part of good usability and design…

So yeah, it’s www.wilwheaton.NET

Pharewell

Phish has called it quits. And while I can’t say I will miss them in their current incarnation, the band will always be part of some very fond memories. I imagine the band members will go on to work on their own, extremely creative projects - which I have enjoyed just as much. But I’m glad they are cashing in now before the house could win it all back like it has with so many other wildly successful bands.

A Thing Or Two On User Interface

I just finished reading the breakdown of Mac OS X vs. Windows XP at, appropriately named, www.xvsxp.com. The article is exhausting to read but offers a lot of information and explanation behind user interface design, something I’ve been off and on very interested in. The article even put in a Tufte quote…

Vanilla Sky

Spring is here…and with it brings my favorite kind of weather…SEVERE weather. Unfortunately, this front/storm bypassed Chicago and hit south of us. Some great pictures of a supercell with the setting sun bouncing on the clouds…”It’s like a Monet!”

Thanks to Ivan for getting my ass up from Sopranos to snap some pics with him.

Ahhh….Such a Nice Feeling

I am on my computer, online and at Devin’s place! Plugged back into the Matrix, getting my fix of pixels, data and my music collection.

This weekend, we’ll be using ol’ Macalaster II to edit Dev’s final film for Production II…and avoiding the crazy lighting storms outside.

I missed my baby…now I hope he and Devin get along ok…

And I hope the cats stay away too…
