I did not watch but 5 or 10 minutes of the 2005 Golden Globes - mainly because I’m not too invested in the nominated films but also because I’m a little sick of Hollywood celebrating itself. I suppose the industry of celebrating celebrities is 5% business, which is necessary for Hollywood filmmaking - and I can live with that. The other 95% is just plain ridiculous.
I am now regretful that I did not tune in for E!’s pre-Golden Globe coverage. Roger Ebert has written a hilarious essay on how Kathy Griffin mocked everyone the whole time in a very witty and appropriate manner. The essay also points why Star Jones needs a humility-bullet in the head just like every other diva on the planet.
