Morningwood + Kasabian + The Music @ The Metro

Because I didn’t catch Morningwood’s set and I left halfway through The Music’s disappointing set, I will have to focus on exactly how hard Kasabian rocked.

First off, I learned how to pronounce their name: Kah-sa-be-an.

I understand the band has 4 core members + a drummer. What makes this band really cool is their use of samplers and effects - something I really enjoy in rock music. They’ve got great stage presence and were nothing but friendly to the crowd.

I believe the setlist went something like this:

I.D.
Processed Beats
Reason Is Treason
Lost Souls Forever
Cutt Off
55
Club Foot

It was a short set - too short, actually and not because they didn’t play my favorite tracks off their album. I know they’re big in the UK right now and I hope they get a following in the US after their album comes out next week - because I want them to come back to Chicago and headline a show.

The Metro - a fine venue as always. Next up, Interpol @ Aragon Ballroom.

I was just listening to Kasabian - Cutt Off
