In the spring of 2005, my good friend Dan proposed the idea of relocating to New York City and coming to work for MLB Advanced Media aka MLB.com. I thought it was a crazy idea but there was no denying that it was a compelling idea, too. The seed was planted and it took a while for it to grow - but soon after 2006 got underway, Dan’s grand scheme was starting to bloom. After a few discussions with the fine folks at MLB and an official meeting, I signed on to work for MLB in late May.

I will leave Chicago for New York Sunday, June 11. As a friend put it, I’m putting a few belongings in a red hankerchief, wrapping it up and tying it around a stick. I’m leaving loved ones, friends and the majority of my belongings behind. Chicago has been my home for close to 4 years and I’m going to miss it.
