Houston Live Music: Third Dominion of Hell

Sounds like one of Houston’s “finest” confused the year for 1967, the city for New Haven and the band for The Doors. Some beat cop busted into a club and put the smackdown on the extremely harmless indie-rock band, Two Gallants for reasons unclear. Brute force was used first but at least the cop had the decency to use his tazer instead of his gun when he couldn’t control the situation.

It might have been over a noise violation but the proper, legal procedure would have been to take it up with the venue management who hired the band to play there that evening.

I hope this doesn’t reinforce the stereotype that police officers - specifically in the Houston area - are mental rejects who get off on power tripping over a bunch of kids listening to some rock music. Because it’s just not true…

I was just listening to Whitest Boy Alive - Fireworks
