This is my first post on welshcrew.com/kevin v.3.0 and it feels fantastic. I can now start writing posts again - rather, I can’t keep using the excuse “I’m redesigning” to prevent me from posting.
It’s a shame because I haven’t written about the cool and uncool things that have been happening in my life. In the past, I’ve cheated and written posts after the fact. Well I’m taking on a new attitude for the blog which is reflective of my attitude towards life right now and that is keep moving forward.
I’m very proud of this new design. I’ve been working on Photoshop comps off and on for a few months. Yesterday, I was given the proper motivation (equal parts support from Devin and disrespect from a potential employer) and flushed this out in 24 hours. It also stands as a benchmark of my knowledge in both CSS/Web Standards and designing for the Web.
The weathered, worn look of it is definitely nothing unique or original. The design is a reflection of recent influences as well as current taste. I’ve been inspired over the past several months by some wonderful websites which I will name right here:

I was just listening to Meat Beat Manifesto - Prime Audio Soup
After killing most if not all of the browser bugs � at least the relevant ones (browsers that is) � I have been enjoying spending time making stuff look cool and work together. I have decided to use my icon I created for a multimedia class as my icon for all things on this site and my resume. A bit of branding, if you will.
I did have to take a break from the site to work on some material for a friend of Dev’s new play. I did everything with low-budget and a minimalist mantra in mind so hopefully the producer, director and writer dig it. Of course Dev gets all of the credit � I like being outsourced to behind the scenes.
I might be posting it up to my portfolio and/or creative section. What is that creative section going to be? Well a lot of the projects I had up before like compression and whamola but also…well I don’t want to spill any beans…

The blog is still in QA/tweek phase as of now but I believe it’s nearing close to 1.0 err 2.0 rather. The browser CSS bugs appear to be squashed and as of now I am playing with the text. I’m really dissatisfied with the AV section right now so I may just replace it with the archive list section. Speaking of archive pages…uh oh, need to build those…

Finally, I am able to launch my new design. I will post more details about it but before I do, I need to patch up any legacy graphics that are blowing out the design and create the archive pages. More to come soon.
